This is for a girl I used to know. I knew her in life, but never appreciated her enough. This poem is the sad and honest truth.

This is what I've always wanted to say

To Elaine as she looks down on us

I'm sorry-

Sorry for everything I said behind your back

Sorry for my feelings of jealousy and hate

Sorry for not loving you,

Not doing the Christian thing

I'm sorry-

You didn't deserve to die

You were young, too young

You were an angel with a beautiful voice,

Even though I didn't always see it

I'm sorry-

That we weren't better friends

That we never did have sleepovers

That we only talked at church or school,

That I wasn't there to comfort you

I hope you can forgive me -

For everything I've done

I know "sorry" won't make it all okay

But I pray that you can find forgiveness,

Somewhere deep within your heart.
