When life gets too comfortable,

Often I forget:

My nice house,

Pretty clothes,

Decent grades,

Are not the things that really matter

When life starts going my way,

Often I lose touch

With those who need me,

More than I need my stuff

With those who need love,

More than selfish thoughts

When all the cards seem to fall into place,

Often I put my priorities

In completely backwards order

Dreaming of what I want to do,

How much money I will make

Instead of wondering who I'll become

When life decides it's not my day,

Often I take for granted,

How blessed I truly am,

Endowed with my talents,

Gifted with ability,

To go and give to those in need

No matter where life may take me,

Often I will falter,

But my faith in God,

Will be there to guide me,

Helping me to always remember,

That I am not number one.
