Last night I was upset and thought nothing could calm me. Something did. It was music.

As I sit on my bed

I feel my wet cheeks

As more tears come flowing

I cry and I cry

Drenched in sorrow

Filled with pain

My mind cannot calm

My heart is racing

My vision is blurred

Suddenly I remember

Something I played

Just the other day

It gushes like a stream,

Filling my head,

Stirring my heart

I cry and I cry

Now drenched in music

Filled with desire

The song pushes me

Away from my piercing cries

Into the fuzzy beyond.

This is a great poem, you are extremely talented. I have a soft spot for well written free verse.

Beautiful Simplicity:

Well written and most entertaining!

Once again and as always.

Liked the theme: The soothing effects of music.

Taking naps always worked for me. Still does.

Slept most of my way through the U.S. Navy and, then, college.

This poem made me want to write and post another children's poem. Believe it! or Not! Stay tuned.

Happy trails,

Ed Bradley.
