First Snow

\"\"

It's snowing Bradley. Been snowing since yesterday. William has been so excited.

We made a snow man for you. It's wearing my Nightmare Before Christmas scarf. I named him Steve.

William asked about you again, wonders if Santa will bring you presents wherever you are. It's the first snow of the year and my wounds burn while the cold stings my cheeks. I miss you.

My tears froze on my eyelashes this morning, crystialized and perfect. I wish you were here to kiss them away.

The deck is covered, and the dog has to swim through the snow in order to pee on his favorite tree. He misses you too.

You're son has the aim you never quite perfected, you know. He nailed me from across the yard. Right in the head. You would be so proud.

I am signing him up for baseball in the Spring. He still has the Dodgers jacket you bought him before he was born. His stuffed dog wears it now.

We miss you.

I will think of you at Yule, and you will be in our prayers. I will save a cookie for you, since you never did get the chance to play Santa with me. I know how much you were looking forward to that.

It's the first snow here in our little world, and I wonder if you are watching. Little boy laughter echoes off the mountains, and I wish I could hear yours, too.
