There was a young fair maiden

With a happy youthful glow,

With lips as red as roses

And skin as pale as snow,

She had a joyful aura

Flooding every room,

She had a peaceful presence

Suppressing every gloom,

She didn't easily succumb

To being bound by a tether,

She held her head high

Through cloudy stormy weather,

There wasn't a trial

She let stand in her way,

She let her happiness take over

And kept her hidden sadness at bay,

She was the keeper

Of all emotions creatures felt,

She held the burdens of pain

And the sorrow mankind dealt,

She knew of death

More than the most wounded man would,

She felt more destruction

Than any man or woman could,

She never let her followers

See the pain she pushed aside,

When they wanted to give up their burdens

She would politely abide,

Man after man

Woman after child,

Came to give up their burdens

And their emotions that made them wild,

She began to grow heavy

From the burdens she carried,

And when she questioned her role in life

Her answers were varied,

Her happiness escaped her

She began to feel depressed,

She began to feel tortured

From the burdens she suppressed,

She felt herself crumbling

From the burdens that she held,

She knew she had to leave

From this shattering world she had dwelled,

"I forgive you all"

Were the last words she muttered,

Her heart slowly stopped beating

And her eyelids quietly shuddered,

She looked upon mankind

With all it's pain and disgrace,

She then whispered a goodbye

Through her smiling tear stained face,

The poor young maiden

Now without her happy youthful glow,

With her lips as red as roses

And her skin as pale as the snow,

She couldn't keep any more burdens

It was now time for her to go,

She fled from this world

Leaving behind her mournful echo.
