The cats at the top have got their paws on the poor The rats at the bottom have got their teeth chattering in the downpour The cats at the top don't care for the rats The rats at the bottom get beaten by fines and heightened tax But the rats at the bottom outnumber the cats! They live deep in the cracks, facing drawback after drawback, cutback after cutback Oh how these rats battle through the day! Expected to obey, longing for what little is left come payday! But one day, the fat cats at the top will pay The rats at the bottom will rise Knock down all means of bourgeois and enterprise The fat cats at the top will fall and the rats at the bottom will take their rule No longer is the will of the rat silenced by the claws of the cat For the rat will escape the cracks No longer afraid of the greedy hostile cat
