Upon this darkened garden I sit.

Getting ready for that next blow or hit.

I pretend that this is my favorite dream

I pretend that this is my sunlit beam.

I think this is a thing of lust.

Just wish it wasn’t something I must.

I want to have one normal dusk

Where I don’t wonder what comes next.

But instead I sit being this saddened poet.

Pretending that I’m not going to blow it.

Poetry is the one true expression of my terrible soul.

It is my one showing of my heart black as coal.

So if you don’t want to deal with me

Go ahead and just let me be.
