This story stems from the age old question, Are we alone?
The answer is a resounding, no!

Light years away, across the void of space

From beyond the heavens, from a distant star.

You've technology that would dazzle

We wonder who you are.

Since the dawn of time, we've recorded your visits

You've walked among us and you've watched us from afar.

We've seen you streak across our skies

We wonder who you are.

If harm you've meant us, by now we'd surely know

To you, were creatures to be studied, like specimens in a jar.

To some, your figments of our imagination, and still

We wonder who you are.

Our darkened skies are filled, with the beauty of your light

Your home is a distant planet, someplace we call a star.

Until such time as you think we're ready

We wonder who you are.

The question has been asked, are we alone

The answer comes in streaks of light from afar

We couldn't possibly be the only planet with life

We wonder who you are.

My partner would like this, He doesn't think we are alone either! Me? I'm not sure! But made for good reading. I enjoyed it.

Thanks again...I just don't believe that the stars in the midnight sky (which are all planets..) were put there simply to decorate the night. There is no way, we are the only intelligent life in the universe.

Thanks again!

this is so good.

we can't be alone. life is simply a mix of hydrogen, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen. but, to be completely honest, would "intelligent life" destroy their own kind? yes, i am talking about murder here.

brilliant piece.

I believe the reason we've not had an "official" visit from alien beings is because they've been watching and studying us for centuries. They know that we a basically a primitive and warlike society. If an actual alien craft were to hover over Washington DC or any other major city in this country what would be the first thing we'd do? Send up fighter planes and try to blow it out of the sky. Only man would be arrogant enough to assume that we are the only sentient beings in the entire universe.

Thanks for your comments/feedback, definitely appreciated.

Thanks again,
