The trauma and pain of Child abuse.

What's done to me

I cannot tell.

My mother wouldn't believe me

If I told her of my hell.

He comes to me each evening

After everyone else is asleep.

He takes my innocence over and over

Alone, in my pillow I weep.

The scars nobody see's

Will be with me for life.

I'll never trust another man.

No man will want me for his wife.

I keep this family secret

Buried within my soul.

It's burning deep inside me

Don't think I'll ever be whole.

I have just one question to ask

Why'd you have to do it to me?

I am your only daughter

Tell me, why daddy?

Painfully expressive. You capture the heart of your reader with this. There are suggestions I would have for it but at the same time I'm not entirely sure you'd want to change anything. Letme know if you're wanting to hear them. Powerful piece.

Thanks for your comments, I'd love to hear what you think should be changed...doesn't mean I'll heed your advice, but I'm always open to suggestions.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks again. I'm sure glad you enjoyed the pieces, actually I should say appreciated rather than glad you enjoyed. It's not a very pleasant topic, but unfortunately it's all to real to many children.

Glad you stopped in.

bellavistabear:

Most effective emotional rendering of a most sad, tragic and destructive reality in the lives of too many children. If the world is dysfunctional, in chaos and despair, then this is, most certainly, one of the most important reasons why.

Happier trails,

Ed Bradley.

Thanks! I can't imagine a childhood such at that (Thank God!)
It's a shame that any child should have to endure such pain at such an early age. Life as an adult has plenty to go around.

Thanks for your comments/feedback.

Have a great evening!

This really got to me as I can identify with it. You really captured how a victim feels. You could have written this for me as it's almost exactly what happened. I won't say well done on this one as it's a horrible topic for me but I will say thank you for recognising us.

Unfortunely, it's a topic too many people can identify with.
Sorry to hear your one of them.

Take care!
