An eerie fog, permeates the dawn

It is a perfect summer day.

Together my best friend and I

Are fishing on the dock on the bay.

Nary a sound is to be heard

As we cast our lines.

Not even a ripple upon the water

Surely this is a sign.

Across the lake we see

Deer coming for a drink.

It's such a tranquil feeling

I give my friend a knowing wink.

At the first tug on my line

The first catch of the day.

Without a spoken word

He signals his dismay.

By noon we've caught our limit

And we're heading on our way.

There's nothing that can beat the feeling

Of fishing on the dock on the bay.
