The lights of New York City
They sparkle in my eyes.
But in my mind I’m seeing
Another place another time.
Take me back to Oklahoma
I wanna go home to Talequah
To the people and the memories
That I am so fond of.
I wanna go back to Oklahoma
To the place where I belong.
Where there’s no neon flashing
Where I can hear a country song.
The streets of Manhattan
They’re a cold and lonely place.
But back home in Talequah
There’s a smile on every face.
I left for fame and fortune
So many years ago.
But allI found was heartache
Now it’s time to go back home.
