Across the American Plains
I chase the darkened sky.
My quest is a tornado
Captured in my cameras eye.
The fury of Mother Nature
Is a wondrous sight to see.
Both frightening and amazing
A Tornado is a thing of beauty.
Each year from spring to fall
I live my life on the road.
From Nebraska to Texas
Hoping to catch the mother lode.
Waterspouts, or twisters
Are a rose by any other name.
A viscious twisting vortex
A demon you can’t tame.
They call me the chaser
Storm chasings in my blood.
It’s a passion that I can’t control
Adrenalin fills me like a flood.
The dark and angry clouds
The lightning and the rain.
A twister scars the land
It leaves the world in pain.
