It was a Sunday in September

The day that I proposed.

I gave you a diamond.

And a single white rose.

Standing at the alter

In a simple country church.

Adorned with White Roses

No longer would I search.

You made your way down the aisle

In a flowing crimson gown

With a bouquet of white roses.

My tears were falling down.

The night of our first anniversary

White roses did abound.

With candlelight and champagne

My heart began to pound.

Six months later as I held you

I kissed you, and you smiled.

I gave you a single white rose

For the birth of our first child.
