Jimmy The Tramp

Jimmy's a tramp who sleeps in a box,

With yesterday's news for a duvet.

A life without deadlines, no watches, no clocks,

Simply sunrise to welcome a new day.

_

But mostly the new days are blue days.

They're simply the same as the rest.

So due to the booze that's loosened his screws,

He's rejected, and labelled a 'pest'.

_

Jimmy's got a mistress called cider.

He's been in love with this temptress for years.

But if only his love he'd denied her,

He'd have saved himself oceans of tears.

_

Now his face is a picture of heartache,

That hangs in the last chance saloon,

And when the cider's gone Jimmy's hands shake,

And some say he barks at the moon.
