Inner Turmoil

There is a world in which we
Find ourselves sandwiched
Between our morality and
Our passions that seek to flee
From the constraints that rules
Bind us in articles of fact
Keeping us in society as the good
People we’re meant to be
But it is hard to keep up
To stay calm and not weep
At the hypocrisy of it all
Politics seems full of deceipt
So we sigh and prod on regardless
Forget where this all stems from
Be brave and try to stay truthful
While we hope for a better day
