Epic Mickey is haunted.

Epic Mickey Suicide Mouse

Everyone has heard of the game Epic Mickey, right?  Well, I have a story connected to it.  It was almost Christmas of 2012, and I was looking for a gift for my daughter.

She was obsessed with Mickey Mouse, it was the first thing she watched on tv (and obviously, no self respecting father would let his daughter watch some bullshit like The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, no she watched real mickey mouse cartoons).  And she was becoming a very serious gamer (just like her old man), so I got her Epic Mickey.

As usual, I decided to make sure some asshole didn’t hide an M-rated game in an E10+ game box, so I took the disc out and put it in our wii.  It looked pretty legit, for a while.  But once the game loaded, some creepy shit started happening.

It started with a face on the loading screen.  It was very brief, just a frame or so, but I could have sworn some freaky, mutilated mickey mouse face popped up for a second, and then it was gone.  Then there was the game itself, when I saw the load game screen, things got weirder.  Someone, at the time I thought it was the previous owner of the game, had left some of their data on the disc.  Their game was called SuicideMouse.

Now, I myself have done a few creepypastas for my YouTube channel, and appreciate the occasional joke, but the title might scare my daughter, so, I decided to see where in the game the guy was, just to see what it was like.

When the game loaded, I was in a room with a long, brutal looking knife on the wall and the heads of Daisy Duck, Minnie Mouse and Goofy nailed to the wall through the eyes, or, where the eyes would’ve been.  Instead, there were empty sockets replacing them.  I stared at the heads with a morbid fascination, the sight terrified me, but at the same time, I thought it was sort of cool.

The only thing in the room other than what I already mentioned was a projector screen.  I walked up to it and pressed the “A” button as directed.  Mickey jumped into the screen.  Just before he did, I saw the title, it was Suicide Mouse.

All this suicide mouse shit was really starting to piss me off, but I continued any way.  When the level loaded, I spawned in a black and white mickey cartoon.  The terrain was mostly a bunch of buildings and a street.  Mickey had a depressed look on his face and his hands behind his back.  I decided to walk forward a little.

After five minutes or so, the game began acting like a corrupted video, and a girl was heard screaming, as for mickey?  Well, his face went from depressed to a cold sadistic smile.  Then it showed a smiling mickey face, as if one of the old endings.

I thought some asshole was just trolling me at the time, but now, well, you’ll see.  Anyway, the face changed to a 3-D image, and it gained color.  It’s teeth became triangular and sharp, it’s eyes fell out of it’s head and the smile turned from cute and fuzzy to maniacal and cold.  It spoke in a low, demonic voice

“Welcome to hell,” it said, “enjoy your stay!”  It started cackling and sputtering.

I shut the game off as quickly as I could.

I didn’t sleep too easily that night, and what sleep I could muster was haunted by a nightmare.  It was that mickey mouse head staring at me.  There was a little blonde girl with no eyes and her mouth slightly open hanging from her neck beneath the demonic face.

“Sing,” it said, and a girls voice started to sing the mickey mouse club song.

I found myself singing along, to my horror.

“M-i-c- k-e-y m-o-u-s-e” that was as far as I got, because my alarm woke me.

The girl in my dream, I realized, now that I was fully awake, was my daughter!  She looked just like her.  I ran into her room.

“Amy!”  I yelled, hoping desperately to get a response, “AMY!  AMY, ANSWER ME!”

Just as I was about to burst into her room, I heard her voice call back.

“what is it, daddy?”

I sighed with relief.  She was alive, Thank God!  I thought.  I don’t know what I would have done if she had died.

When she went to school with her mother, I decided to get down to the bottom of whatever the hell was going on.  I turned the wii on and deleted the SuicideMouse world.  Then I looked up a few lets plays of Epic Mickey.

Let me be the first to say, that game was not the way it should have been.  I started my own game and everything went smoothly, I fought the boss with only an occasional pop up of that fucked up mickey face.  I got out of dark beauty castle with a minimal amount of bloodshed.  Then, the carnival was were I first died.

The reason I died was because the game wouldn't stop pausing then unpausing.

The animation showed mickey melting into a puddle of blood.  When I respawned, it was in the room that SuicideMouse was on.  I figured the only way to get out was via the projector screen.  When I finished the level, the face came up again, with Amy’s corpse beneath it.

“Sing!  Sing!  Sing!” It said.

Amy started to sing the mickey mouse club theme again, but I didn’t let it get that far, I powered off and unplugged my wii, but the image and sound remained on the screen.  I powered off and unplugged the tv, and the face slowly began to fade,  but just as the image was last fading, the face said;

“You can never truly destroy me!”

That night I dreamt I was in the room with the decapitated heads and all of my relatives were hanging beneath the corrupted Mickey face.  They were all singing the mickey mouse club song.  It was terrible, I ran to the knife on the wall and tried to cut off my ears the song was so horrible, but it didn’t work, I only managed to cause myself more pain.  I sat down and cried until I felt warm, sticky liquid running down my face.  I opened my eyes, only to find I didn’t have any.  I cried until I woke up.

The next day I went into my living room to find my wife and daughter had gone Christmas shopping.  When I went to destroy the damn game, I gasped in horror.  The tv and wii had been plugged back in and the game was in the wii.  I almost fainted when I saw the game data.  Just above the game that I had started the other day was the game SuicideMouse.  The load screen faded out to show the demented Mickey face staring at me.  “how did you sleep last night?” it asked, then it started laughing hysterically.  And that’s when I lost it.  I screamed in anger and flew at the damn thing.  I kicked a hole straight through the tv.  The face continued to laugh.  I ran and got a hammer and started to smash the wii with it until I could get the disk out.  I smashed the disk to.  All the while the face laughed.  I started to smash the tv.  When it was reduced to dust, the damn voice said “sing” and I heard the voices of everyone I knew who liked Mickey Mouse singing the Mickey Mouse club theme song.  Every shadow became another one of my friends and family, now brutally mutilated and hanging from the neck.  I screamed and ran out of my house, into the park and straight into a tree.  I felt two tree branches stab my eyes and run straight into my brain.  The singing, accompanied by the laughing grew louder, and the last sound I heard was the face’s voice saying “welcome to hell, enjoy your stay.”

Michael Morgan was considered insane when on the day of Friday, December thirteenth, he impaled himself through the ears on a stick after running into a tree where two branches impaled stabbed his eyes.  Mr. Morgan died minutes later.

December 17, 2:00 P.M.

It’s been four days since Mike killed himself.  In his will, he left Amy a game called epic mickey.  She did the hung herself a few days after first playing the game.  I don’t know if this might have caused it, but she was complaining about a scary mickey mouse face haunting her dreams.
