A little nonsense poem I wrote a while back after reading some Edward Lear and Spike Milligan.

I often wonder to myself,

How the time between the ticks is spent,

The second hand goes on and on,

But the time between the ticks is quickly gone,

Could between the ticks reside,

Momentary death, love, fear, life?

The conclustion that I've reached is this;

No one really gives a shit.

Aah, I hope you haven't reached that conclusion. You're far too young for that. Shame, as well, because that was quite an interesting idea, got me thinking about the space between atoms that we somehow don't fall through

I wanted to convey how, generally, people don't have the time or inclination to consider seemingly unsubstantial things such as this. Also, I liked the idea of proposing something that is, hopefully, interesting, before using bathos to take that away again. Maybe there is something more in the idea though. Thank you for the comment, again.

Technical tip you can delete: If this is the ending you believe in, it would scan better if you said -

The conclusion that I've reached is this:
No one really gives a shit.

Hope you don't mind?

I agree, it reads better that way and I think it'd be beneficial if I changed it.
