I walk these streets

Fire in my eyes

The sound of war

Rings in my ears

Full of fear

And I run

With all of my strength

Testing my endurance

Because I must be strong

In this world

So corrupt and wrong

Solely to stay sane

I worry fervently

That things will never change

But I can’t let them see

The fear inside of me

So I cover it with rage

Burn a flag while they burn the page

I can’t let them silence me

The people must know

That those who claim

“Follow us, we can show

You how to be

Independent and free.”

Are full of lies

They stifle the cries

Of their victims

Minds in an oppressed condition
