I caught a hornet in a styrofoam coffee cup during a session at a conference in a large, swanky hotel. I wrote it from the perspective of the woman that I passed as I hurried down the escalator to free the huge hornet that was inside of my cup.

As I traveled down the escalator
A woman sped past me
"I've got a hornet in a cup!"
Not wanting anything to do
With an angry hornet
Or a freaked out woman
I got out of the way.
She took that buzzing styrofoam coffee cup
"I need the nearest door!"
The hornet's head peeked out as she tried to keep the cover in place.
She let it go on the sidewalk.
As she walked back in - empty cup in hand
The man on his phone
Stomped the life out of the hornet.
"There's my good deed for the day," she said.
