Lay my coffin across the ocean
So I can watch the water run deep
I've always loved the cool water against my ankles
This feeling that I will never feel again.

Lay my coffin on the city side walks
Where the people pass and go
I hear them speak of their tasks at hand
These words I will never hear again.

Lay my coffin at the porch of my house
Where I saw the children laugh and play
and  kissed their wounds when they cried
For I can never care for them again.

Lay my coffin at the Capital
So all can watch and see
For I was known  as no one
But with the life I took, I was known forever.
