I wish not to lose myself,

To lose what makes me, me.

Yet I am different from yesterday

And will be different again tomorrow.

Progress, they'll call it

An affirmation of character,

growing into my plastic mould, pushing against the walls of its confines.

Such as the darkness creeping up to a candle.

Oh let me stay aflame,

If only for a little longer.

Let me indulge myself,

Pretending that i won't be any different tomorrow.
