Fiery Nightmares

Fire dances in her eyes,
As her trigger finger twitches.
And angry smirk scrunches up her face,
And then the sequence switches.

Fire dances around my room,
I’m trying to escape.
Smoke is filling up my lungs,
Until a new picture takes shape.

Fire dances in my head,
I let out a piercing scream.
My head has never ached so much,
But things aren’t what they seem.

Fire dances down below,
And I’m standing on the brink.
The fear of falling overwhelming,
As these images begin to sink.

Fire dances on my hands,
I see them covered with blood.
For a moment I wonder whose it is,
Then more pictures start to flood.

Fire dances in my mind,
Dream sequences swirl around.
Then all is black as I awake,
With my head beginning to pound.
