A dark poem I wrote when I was bored. Careful not to read at face value.

It's another day in this carnival of empty souls.

Trapped in a house of mirrors.

Broken glass and shattered dreams.

Shadows creep around from the faceless people.

The nights come as quickly as they go.

Tonight, I'm just another quiet scream to these empty hearts.

So I'll just sit and watch the flashing lights outside.

And I can't help not to close my eyes.

I'll think of all the people I'll never see again.

And I'll listen to the stories of passers by.

There's no escape from this masquerade.

There's a different mask at every turn.

And I can't find my way back home.

Tonight, I'll become another ghost in this carnival of empty souls.
