Thats it, you've gone away
You left about a week ago, but today you passed away.
Yesterday was Christs birthday, today your life is run
You were the greatest Granda, I'm glad I'm your Grandson.
You loved us and we loved you, of that there is no doubt.
Your death has brought this grief to me and now I wish to shout
Out loud to folk that never knew you, that is sure there loss,
not knowing Kildrums rolling stone that never gathered moss.
Even in my sorrow I remember fondly when I was just a kid,
Us running round the garden, finding twenty p's you'd hid.
You and my Gran would take us places, we went wherever you led,
Stirling Castle and swimming baths or even just ice cream from Muirhead.
I miss you in the morning, I miss you in the night
I miss you when my eyes are open, for God took you from our sight.
But He gave the greatest gift to me, of that I cant deny
To have you as my Granda, was something money could not buy.
Its hard to know your not around, even though I know you are
In every memory I have of you, your spirits never far.
Thank God you were my Granda and I was your Grandson,
Thank God we are all your family, each and every one.
