A Bed of Roses

In our special place beneath the night sky,

The light that shone was in your eyes,

As I took you in my arms and laid you down,

Upon a bed of roses, strewn, about the ground,

Gently we caressed and kissed at first,

Until passion flared and inflamed a thirst,

That could only be quenched within your arms,

Where I could drink fully of your charms,

Then slowly we began to move as one,

Establishing our rythym, we'd walk, then run,

Gradually ascending toward unseen heights,

Our cries of passion echoeing throughout the night,

Until finally, blissfully, we both reached our peak,

Utterly spent, we needed no words to speak,

Of this love that carried us so high,

In our special place beneath the sky,

I will never forget what that meant to me,

Together with you so wild and free,

Even if I knew how it all would end,

Toward those heights I'd still ascend,

For, I will always, cherish the sights and sounds,

Of the last time I ever laid you down,

Upon a bed of roses.
