Silent memories, Terror filled night

I’m too afraid to turn out the light.

What’s in the darkness I do not know?

Will something grab me? And not let me go?

Crash of thunder, flash of light once again I am filled with fright.

Wishing someone could hold me tight and softly whisper “my child it’s alright”

Shaking, shaking upon my bed oh how I wish this night would end.

Will the sun ever come again?

Will the memories ever stop?

Silent torment my soul within praying that this night would end.

Cries of anguish, screams of pain echo, echo in my brain.

Someone please calm this frightened child within.

Someone hold her oh so tight and whisper “child it will be all right”.
