humans crawling back into that primeval slime.
and that one day we will not wake up to find,
for-fills that cliché, the circle of life we live in,
That on this planet, our world of orbit and spin,
so we can only hope and prey.
Evolution continues to this day,
lived alongside the human hunter gatherers.
Meat eaters, herbivores, hunters and scavengers,
life flourished dispersing across every terrain.
Mountains, valleys, deserts and virgin plain,
many went back to swimming in rivers and seas.
A few choose a life swinging amongst the trees,
tunnelling through the dirt to make their home.
Or they burrowed deep below the earthy loam,
insects of all shapes, buzzing bees and firefly's.
Some learnt to glide souring across the skies,
we learnt to stand, evolved the ability to move around.
From belly's crawling to forepaws on the ground,
the natural feeling of finally belonging.
Or was it the purest rush of re-birthing,
emptied from our lungs, the reverse of drowning.
Did we splutter, cough, retch, as liquid gushing,
what did it smell like, taste of, feel like, this inhaled action.
That first breath, gasped aspiration of oxygen,
daring to break free from being oceanic slaves.
Dragging our bodies from beneath the waves,
Where we existed since the beginning of time.
up from beneath the primeval slime.
What made us think we could climb,
