Our first kiss was a kiss goodbye. Letting go is hard, but sometimes holding on is harder.

Why are you so afraid to lose?
We've nothing left to gain
Your clutch just serves to further bruise
a heart already slain
Your clutch just serves to further tie
a heart that's bound to pain

You can't pretend that you're surprised
our well of love ran dry
Though hatred may be well disguised
it always waits nearby
Remember now that our first kiss
was just a kiss goodbye

Let us make this goodbye our last
and let it not remiss
to put between us distance vast
an empty black abyss
And if some memory does remain
there's nothing there to miss
