There never was a pain that tears could make heal faster.

I know there never was a pain
that tears could make heal faster
and yet the memories remain,
a pain I cannot master--
a single tear can drown a year
of joy, now fading fast.
A wave of sorrow, and tomorrow
nothing good can last.
-----
A little pain can loose a flood
to drown the world in vain,
for drops of water can't draw blood
and tears have never slain.
The only one to come undone
when tears begin to fall
is one who cries--the one that lies
will never die at all.
-----
Yet, if I truly wished to heal
I'd drown these thoughts of you
in waves of hate I cannot feel
whose tide is overdue.
A single drop could put a stop
to all these useless fears:
and you, my love, are not above
a raging flood of tears
