Was that your voice again, or am I just hearing things?

I heard your voice tonight: not in a dream
or other shade of self-decieving hope--
I'm not a fool to crawl and blindly grope
in search of thread to fix the broken seam
between our hearts. No, this I truely deem,
that broken hearts have never learned to cope:
instead of silken thread, they find a rope
to tie themselves to things that merely seem

to hold some truth. But this, my love, I swear,
that somewhere in the night I heard you call.
Though half a world away, my love, I know
whatever we have torn, my hands can sew:
whatever we have lost, I'll find it all:
and if you dream tonight, I will be there.
