I thought time would never heal this pain: apparently, I was wrong.

I thought that I had found a pain
that time could never heal,
a sea of tears that years won't drain
and time could not conceal;

but now I see that Iwas wrong,
and every pain must fade.
The tide of time is just too strong
for any to evade.

And slowly, like the churning sea
reclaims the beach's sand,
so time can wash my pain from me
as oceans take the land:

by inch, by inch, it flows away
as changing time beguiles:
by only inches every day,
and my pain goes on for miles.
