It's amazing how much more beautiful the world is now that you're gone.

Since I lost you, life's beauty I have found:
fair music gives me peace through day and night:
sweet poetry addresses well my plight
as not before, when love was all around.
The stars, that on these sleepless nights surround
my every breath, have never seemed so bright
and words were never easier to write
than when muse-laden memories abound.

And yet--I cannot help but think at times
that with the years all beauty fades away
and this may be the greatest of life's crimes,
that beauty bought by sorrow soon turns gray
and cold; there is but one thing I hold true;
there's nothing now so beautiful as you.
