A mother holds her baby
And a wife is home alone
As a soldier falls to dead
Children ask "When is Daddy coming home?"

An explosion quakes a city
A landmark falls to ground
A child with innocent ears
Cannot block out the violent sounds

Rummaging through the debris
Families must perceive
The body of a loved one
How can this be?

A mother's worst nightmare
Is to have to identify her little one
"Is this your child?" she hears
This never should have been done

When a bomb strikes a life
We can only pray for the best
God will always be there
In the end we will pass the test
