I've given up so much to make you happy. All I want from you is a simple goodbye.

Do you know what it is that you owe me?
Can you count every tear that I've cried?
Don't even pretend that you know me
until you've faced every death that I've died.
There's no point asking what, why or how:
It's your exit, so please take a bow.
The best thing you can do for me now
is to never return to my side.

You claim you are sorry you hurt me,
but I know you are only afraid
that the lies in your voice will alert me
to each debt that you still haven't paid.
You ought to know, I am not minding
every answer I still am not finding:
I'd forgive you, but then I'd be binding
my soul to the mistakes we've made.

You seem to think I can still save you--
Though I could, why the hell would I try?
Could you really forget what I gave you
when you remember each innocent lie?
How much lower will you try to sink?
Save yourself, if you're great as you think.
This is wine I'm not willing to drink
and a death I'm not willing to die.

There's no height left from which you can fall
but you're out of safe places to hide--
I'm not sure that I care, after all,
if you drown in the tears that I've cried.
There's no point asking what, why or how:
It's your exit, so please take a bow.
The best thing you can do for me now
is to never return to my side.
