As I sit here on the edge of my bed,
I take the last sip of my drink,
It burns but the effects of the booze soothes me.
I place the glass with a thud on the bedside table, while over-viewing my letter.
It's cold for one to write, but the pain is having no relief.
I wipe away my last few tears before I walk the center of my room..
It dangles there lifelessly, dry but sorts the comfort I so desire.
As I take the step to my destiny, I feel nothing, empty. Cold.
I place tug the brown scarf around my naked neck, so rough and dry it may be.
I take a leap, time feeling still, like I can see the moment out of my body, it's welcoming, as I close my eyes, almost tasting the sweetness of the moment as it is all over.
But then, a snap, the rope breaks!
I am alive? Is this a mockery of fate or life asking for me to hold on a bit longer?
I break out, crying, sobbing, tearing the letter, and hoping that it's all I hope for.
