THE TORCH

For many years deep underground there had been a shrine that had been built into the walls of a volcano that had been extinct for only two hundred years. This shrine looked like something that of what you would see some kind “Indiana Jones” movie. There was a twist to this because that the further you went in the hotter it would get. Until got into the middle of the shine where the temperature would drop to the temperature to that of the artic. And in the centre of that shrine there was the reason to the complete drop in temperature was because in the center of that room was a torch. This was flaming a great fire, but not one of heat one of freezing cold…

“Three, Two, One, Go! Go! Go!” yelled the jump marshal as he pushed Roadie out of the plane and straight into the air straight above a volcano that had been extinct for about two years.

Down, down, down into the volcano but he didn’t pull chute until he was at two hundred feet. His fall slowed dramatically and he lurched up as the chute slowed his fall. E landed with a soft “thump” on the entrance. As quick as he could he got out of the chute and let it fall into the water two feet from where he had landed instead of watching it sink in the lava he whipped up his two Magnum .45 and charged inside.

As he went his jump suit kept his blood from boiling. He checked his temp gauge and noticed that the temperature down in the volcano was 67 degrees Celsius, but in the jump suit he felt a cool 22 degrees. As he charged through the shrine he noticed all the things that looked like that of the hieroglyphics of that in tombs of Egypt, and then the writing changed to what like Chinese or Japanese. He checked the temp gauge and noticed that the temp had fallen to -6 degrees.

I must be getting close he thought and he changed round the next corner to be greeted by the centre chamber of the shrine.

He ran to the center and grabbed the torch and immediately the floor rumbled, the shrine was falling down! He bolted for the exit and didn’t stop running, legs pumping, heart pounding. He came to the where he had had first entered then flicked a switch on his wrist and then he was lifted off his feet and into the air. As he flew up the shrine below him fell in to the and sank. He just made it.

Roadie would fly to the closest airport and then be picked up by a private jet and be taken home to put the torch where it belongs in his underground lab where his computer would find the next torch.
