Broken.
That's what I am.
The one word that defines me.
I'm shattered glass, an over-used toy, a rubber band stretched one too many times.
Fading.
That's what I'm doing.
Falling slowly but surely into the background, darkness, oblivion.
Alone.
That's how I feel.
No one's here with me, no one's been where I've been, no one's waiting for me at my destination.
So terribly alone I stand,
Steadily fading into a bottomless chasm,
Irreparably broken.
Wandering in space until I find a black hole gracious enough to take me.
Hoping for someone to save me.
Wait.
No.
That can't be.
Hoping?
You can't hope if you're alone.
The broken can't hope.
You can't hope and fade at the same time.

Hoping.
