When I used to look at you
my heart raced
and my brain woke up
my senses came alive

Your eyes
bright and glowing
lead me through my fright

But now those eyes
are cold as steel

and looking at you makes me mourn

the days I loved you

Heartbreaks and love affairs

make me wish that life and love

were just imagination

And that I didn’t care for you
even though I know I do
