#2 in my collection of poems

Scars on my wrists, broken veins like broken dreams

No more nightmares ‘cos it’s all real

Worst fears are true

Crimson tide washing over me

Washing away all feelings

No more hurt, sadness, pain or agony

But I am hollow

Empty, drained, hollow

Look at the blood flow

My life is slowly draining away

Yet I feel no regret, just release, reprieve, relief

Don’t look at me ‘cos I’m a mess

I know you talk about me, gossip and whisper

But don’t say sorry ‘cos I know you don’t mean it

I’m a strange phenomenon, a loner

Wandering aimlessly day in and day out

Hoping that maybe today it’ll all be over

But not yet willing to take it into my own hands.

I wanna go back to my parallel universe

Where someone cared

Where he shared my longing for something more than hate

I know you don’t care, but this is the end of that paradise

‘Cos we collided with reality, with casualties.
