A A A

I just entered, and all I felt were

Butterflies.

Will he talk to me?  Should I smile?

Run.

I should have said hi.

Mirror? I need to ask

You a question.

Do I look good?

Walk out.

 I hope he's gone. No

You don't.

He stayed.

More as if he knew OUR routine. But

He had nothing to do at his locker.

Nothing to take.

He opened it. He

Waited

For me.

He heard my steps. Almost as if we were

In sync.

He looked embarrassed. He walked in front of

Me.

He hesitated.

Left or right?

He walked the Wrong way.

He put on his headphones.

Maybe my steps were too much for him.

Maybe my broken ankle hurt him.

But he didn't cause it.

We never played soccer that day. But

He saw it as a game.

It was never a match. At least not

For me.

I went to the doctor,

I wanted him to stitch it up. He said

It was impossible.

He gave me a cast instead.

"What am I going to do with this?"

Tell him to sign it.

But he was never responsible for his graffiti.
