Welcome, welcome,
You came to me,
I invited you in with open arms.
And the wonderful company
We both received,
Should have set off
Distant alarms.
You ate with the dagger
You left in my bosom,
I spiced your meat with my blood;
And the trail of crimson
It left in your heart
Was soon washed away by your mud.
But I stuffed the wound
With my broken dreams,
And I still kept my heart to hold;
I’ll invite you over
Another night soon,
But be warned,
Your dish will
Be cold.
