Your skin is too white,
Eerily so,
And I hear you turning and screaming at night.
And I wonder if,
It’s something I should know,
While I stare ahead happily as if everything’s right.
And it’s as if we’re one,
With only one heart,
And mine breaks inside every time,
I see you pretend you’re fine.
And they may look down on us,
As if we’re ignorant of the world,
But I’m starting to feel that you know all too much.
And I’ve tried to cry for you,
But it’s like I’m the ignorant one,
Only ignorance isn’t bliss.
And yet you can still smile, I’ve seen it,
Before you cry yourself to sleep,
And dream of a white world,
Where no hands can touch you,
And voices only sing sweet melodies.

Yeah, she was one of my best friends. Se was abused by her mother. I tried to take care of her, but she moved away, and since then, I've only seen her once. She had a terrible sadness in her, but within that there was a beauty. :)
