keep trudging on, young lost soul

Keep trudging on, young lost soul

and carrying the weight of your whole

world upon your thin bony shoulders.

The pain will teach you not to falter.

Keep trudging on, young lost boy.

I cannot give you the answer to why

you must face these tasks alone and scared.

I warned you this life would not be fair.

I wonder if you blame yourself

for all the memories placed on the shelf

inside your mind and left to gather

dust and never again gaze at her.

Think of what her eyes are hiding,

or if her smile is truly shining.

You’d give anything to hold that heart of hers

when still you carry that weight on your shoulders.

You poor tragic child, keep trudging on.

I wish I could tell you it won’t be long.

Until you will carry this weight no more,

or tell you what you are fighting for.

But i’ve seen you gazing at her from the start,

and the sag of those shoulders when you were apart.

then she forgot you like unfinished art

but the pain in those eyes when you see her look at him…breaks my heart.
