“Loneliness”

Loneliness is pain,
It is a bitter reminder of life’s hardships.
It limps to a place where it can cry,
And be passed by the world.
No one notices it,
No one even cares.
For who would care for the small boy?
The boy who needs love more than anything else.
Everyone hears his sobs, but no one will stop,
No one will care if he needs consolation.
He cries out in pain as he is rebuked,
And no one cares to ease his pain.
He has dark circles under his eyes,
The reminder of all the sleepless nights he’s cried.
On his hand he wears a ring,
As black as the dark nights could bring.
The boy stifles a sob as he realizes,
The ignorance the world could have,
as it just passes him by.
Or, is it just, the cruelty of men.
