Who Is This Person I Call Me

Who are we

Who is this person I call me

Who am I

I know I'm me, but why

Our mind can either be our prison or our wings

We are a product of life's little things

Many events that shape who we are

Every thought we ever have gets stored in our mental jar

Filled with hopes and dreams

With loss and death and fear of the highest extremes

A thought tagged with an emotion

But we are still haunted by the biggest question

Who are we

Who is this person I call me

Who am I

I know I'm me, but why

There is a voice inside my head

Sometimes I are in control other times I am misled

But being mislead is part of the process

Are we just a pawns in this game of chess

Or are we the actually player moving the pieces around

Who decides if we are miserable or happiness bound

Who are we

Who is this person I call me

Who am I

I know I'm me, but why

We set limitations on ourselves because of other peoples doubt

Just because the path has a few tough spots doesn't mean we should find another route

Yet it consumes us and keeps us from following our dreams

We instantly think we can't continue even though we have the means

A roadblock is only a problem we haven't figure out how to deal with yet

Being true to yourself and free thinking is going to be your biggest asset

Cut your chains and set your mind free

You can be whatever you want to be

Who are we

Who is this person I call me

Who am I

I know I'm me, but why

As a child we are told when we grow up we can be whatever we want to be

We can be a Cowboy or a Ballerina and our parents are quick to agree

But as we grow we stop dreaming and start criticizing

We stop thinking and start living

We allow this cloud to lower

Its normal so we just become a product of our culture

We don't ask the questions that need to be asked

We are afraid of what we will unmask

Who are we

Who is this person I call me

Who am I

I know I'm me, but why
