Trouble (Story of My Life)

Trouble never leaves my home,
It feels a welcome guest.
I never should have asked it in,
It’s grown to such a pest.

At first it was a lot of fun,
We laughed the whole day through!
But now I can’t get rid of it,
I don’t know what to do!

Trouble keeps me up at night
I rarely catch a wink,
It occupies my mind and makes
Me think and over-think.

My eyelids droop when I wake up,
Dark circles are my style,
And trouble just stands by my side,
Guffawing all the while.

Trouble keeps me company
(Sometimes it’s kind of nice),
But if it knocks at your address,
Please, please take my advice:

Pretend that you are occupied,
Or dying on the floor,
Do anything to keep that pest
From walking through your door.
