My life is like a mountain,
with steep and rocky sides.
Feeding creeks and streams and rivers,
flowing far and wide.
You can see me from great distance,
and never know me true.
It takes great work to climb me,
which few will dare to do.
My waters they spread over
the boundless countyside,
And lead me to great wonders,
as I meander far and wide.
I touch a great many others,
as they stroll along my shores.
But then they turn and walk away,
and leave me wanting more.
But some will see the challenge,
and swim against the tide.
Not satisfied from a distance,
they need to see my hidden side.
Will it be worth the effort?
Only time will tell.
But life is an adventure,
and takes work to live it well.
For truly life is more
than the random tricks of fate.
It's really all about
the connections that we make.
