Random thoughts on the little things that make life worth living, or at least bearable, set to rhyme.

Morning Coffee

Morning coffee,
freshly brewed,
there is no better way.

Served up hot,
in my favorite mug,
to help me start the day.

Drink it slowly,
sip by sip,
to chase away the gloom.

Just one cup,
is all I need,
and off to work I zoom.

In a thermos,
safe and tight,
my stash I keep nearby.

Throughout the day,
cup by cup,
until the well runs dry.

And when it's gone,
I am not sad,
as I put my cup away.

Tomorrow there's
a fresh pot brewing
to get me through the day.

Thank you, Dibs. It's nice to just be able to write down something short and silly about everyday things.

Nice! The rhythm was so bouncy, I like it! I don't like coffee so I can't relate but I do like hot chocolate...if that counts xD

Counts for me, I like hot chocolate, too. Sometimes I put a little mix in my coffee. Thanks for the read and the comment.

Yeah, I knew you were a coffee fan. I really do drink it all thought the day, even in summer. Don't have to worry about keeping ice or anything, it's always ready and always good. Thanks for the attention, really appreciate it!

I like this rhyming pattern, this is the second time I've tried it. I love the way that rhythm and rhyme can influence the mood of a poem. Thanks!

Good one Bob. I didn't realise you had been on here so long and attract so much must be one of the longest "serving" members of Booksie along with Mike Stevens,

I also like the recordings of you reciting. To me poetry comes alive or is at its best when the writer recites. Well done.

I'm amazed at the amount of reads I've gotten on some of my stuff, that's for sure. I haven't been here all that long, will be 2 years in October. Mike is great, and so prolific! I don't know how he does it. I like adding reading to my work, and I love some of the other stuff on here, like from Irwinagain, who reads with a great accent. This is a fantastic site, loaded with talented writers. Thanks so much for deciding to spend some of your precious time here!
