Fragments

The sun is hiding
An angel plays a lyre

The lavender is weeping
The rose pricks on the thorns

The jester pulls apart the daffodils
Sleigh bells ring behind the walls

A wolf is howling in the kitchen
The bear is lying on the bed

The cider is crushed in poison
The snake entwines the vines

Eden is burning now
Afraid of the winters chill

The fool juggles the moon
As the tide ebbs and flows

The pack is hunting
We pray for release

Thunder roars in silence
Raining down upon the king

The ravens are flying
The gibbet swings against the breeze

A swallow is taken
Bitter taste torn from the sky

An Angel is searching
For her wings

Icarus is flying
On borrowed time

The catacombs are open
A maze to amaze a fool

The hedges are closing in
Alice tumbles into wonderland
Breadcrumbs feed the ravens
Scraps for cold charity

The shutters closed against the light
The darkness burns the skin

The orchard is blooming
Beware the blossom tainted red

Pretty maids feed Casanova
Lust is greed personified

The queen of spades is crying
A jigsaw is broken

The walls are high and twisted
Humpty Dumpty is falling again

The tower is crumbling
Babel is descending

The cobwebs hold the fly
The darkness holds the spider

Pretty maids spin their webs
Machiavellian deception traps the knight

The white rook plays chess
The king is laid siege

The dice roll the gambler
Dead mans hand holds the cup

The grail is lost forever
Jerusalem is fallen

The reaper is counting grains
The tide washes away the time

The scythe reaps the whirlwind
The princess pays the piper

The knave is lost forever
Feeding the wolves……
