A race against the daemons that populate my soul and my body.
Also a song with a off tempo beat something along the lines of a Tom Waits song.

A race I know I can win even though it is going to be a marathon as opposed to a 100 yard dash.

Run from it all

The morphine runs deep in my veins
The pain runs deep in my soul
Tearing my emotions
Raping my self control

Run from it all
Run as fast as you can
Run from the pain
Run from the pills
Running through my soul

I admit I have a problem
There is no cure to restore
The broken china
The pieces are scattered

Run from it all
Run as fast as you can
Run from the pain
Run from the pills
Running through my soul

I am snared by self doubt
Someone has barred the way out
It’s something to hold on to
And call my own

Run from it all
Run as fast as you can
Run from the pain
Run from the pills
Running through my soul

Morphine is all I am
Pain is all I’ll be
I can never overcome it
Only try to outrun it.
